"I Know Him So Well" was recorded by Peter Kay and Susan Boyle for Comic Relief 2011, with Kay appearing as his alter ego Geraldine McQueen. Their version reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. A spoof music video was also created.

In an interview with British daily Metro, Susan Boyle said that she felt honoured when Kay asked her if she could contribute vocals to the cover. She said, "his [Kay's] vision was clear from the start and I wanted to be involved. The video encapsulated the ethos of Comic Relief, having fun while raising money." The song was released as a single worldwide, later.

The single entered the UK singles chart at number 11 on 27 March 2011.

The music video made its debut on the night of Red Nose Day 2011 and features both Kay and Susan Boyle re-enacting the original video. The video's plot stayed true to the original, while incorporating spoof scenes.

In August 2010, British tabloid, News of the World, reported that Susan Boyle was experiencing financial woes as Boyle was unable to access her fortune, which was being controlled by her management team - consisting of Andy Stephens, Ossie Killkenny, and Susan's lawyer niece Kirsty Foy.

Amanda Holden remarked upon the audience's initially cynical attitude, and the subsequent "biggest wake-up call ever" upon hearing her performance.

Susan Boyle's performance was widely reported and tens of millions of people viewed the video on YouTube. She was "absolutely gobsmacked" by the strength of this reaction. She is aware that the audience on Britain's Got Talent was initially hostile to Susan Boyle because of her appearance, but Susan Boyle has refused to change her image. Susan Boyle recorded 2 songs 10 years ago and distributed them to only a handful of Susan Boyle's closest friends in the village of Blackburn, West Lothian, where Susan Boyle lives alone with her cat.

The recording, which was unearthed by Telegraph.co.uk, features 2 songs - an early version of the blues ballad Cry Me a River and Killing Me Softly with His Song, the track immortalised by Roberta Flack in 1973.

Daily Record newspaper in Scotland uncovered Miss Boyle's first CD recording - a version of Cry Me a River recorded for a millenium charity compilation CD at Whitburn Academy.

The recording unearthed by Telegraph.co.uk is an earlier demo tape that Ms Boyle had produced to send to record companies, and to local and national TV and radio talent competitions including Michael Barrymore's My Kind of People, for which Susan Boyle later auditioned but was rejected.

The recording was made at her own expense with Miss Boyle telling friends at the time that she had "spent all her savings" on it.

A friend of Ms Susan Boyle, who gave the recording to Telegraph.co.uk, said she had forgotten about the tape until her friend shot to global fame.

Susan Boyle's father died in the 1990s, and Susan Boyle's siblings had left home. She never married, and Susan Boyle dedicated herself to care for her aging mother until she died in 2007 at the age of 91.

A neighbour reported that when Bridget Boyle died, her daughter "wouldn't come out for three or four days or answer the door or phone."

She took singing lessons from voice coach Fred O'Neil. Susan Boyle attended Edinburgh Acting School and took part in the Edinburgh Fringe. Susan Boyle was born when Susan Boyle's mother was 47, she was briefly deprived of oxygen during the difficult birth and was later diagnosed as having learning difficulties. Susan Boyle says she was bullied as a child and Susan Boyle was nicknamed "Susie Simple" at school.

After leaving school with few qualifications, Susan Boyle was employed for the only time in Susan Boyle's life as a trainee cook in the kitchen of West Lothian College for 6 months and took part in government training programmes.
